I still get a little rush when I think about the week Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded came through. I had been grinding the base Season 5 since it started, chasing the STG44 and Static-HV meta weapons, rotating between the new Bait and Yard 6v6 maps, and dropping into the Superstore over in Warzone Urzikstan every chance I got. When I heard the midseason update would hit on August 21 at 9 AM PT, I made sure my console preload was ready so I could jump straight in. The rollout covered PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Warzone Mobile all at the same time, which meant nobody in my squad had to wait around.

As soon as the update went live, I headed into Multiplayer to try the three new modes. Fishfection put a strange twist on Infected, Paintball reworked Kill Confirmed for bright and frantic matches, and Defuse or Destroy added a fresh tactical spin on Search & Destroy. I also queued for Ink House, a cel-shaded variant of Stash House, and it honestly felt like playing inside a living comic book. At the same time, I knew I had some new tools to unlock. The Spear arrived through the Battle Pass, while the Torque 35 Compound Bow was waiting as a Weekly Challenge reward. Both were free, which was a nice change from the usual grind. I also kept an eye on the new Aftermarket Parts: the JAK Devastators for the Reclaimer 18 and the JAK Deathmarch for the BAL-27 quickly became loadout experiments.

Over in Warzone, I was mostly excited for Supreme Resurgence. Regular Resurgence was already chaotic, but this version dialed everything up with meta-inspired weapon builds scattered as ground loot, pricier loadout drops, and more health for every Operator. It made rotations feel riskier, especially when Elite Contracts started showing up. Those short-time objectives offered serious loot, including the Foresight Killstreak, extra weapons, the Specialist Perk Package, and an Advanced UAV. The Recon Flyover Public Event also kept my squad moving, and hearing that Warzone Mobile players would get extra premium rewards in the Keep meant I could chip away at progress even when I was away from my main setup.

The part I cared about most, though, was Modern Warfare Zombies. Season 5 Reloaded brought the conclusion of the MWZ storyline, and the final Story Mission sent my squad back into a Dark Aether exclusion zone for some brutal objectives. Completing it unlocked another Dark Aether Rift, which gave us even more reasons to return. That is how I ended up chasing the Disciple Bottle, Grenade Bandolier, and Stash Increase Schematics for days. The final mission felt like a proper endcap rather than a random side quest, and the rewards made the extra runs worthwhile.

Looking back, Season 5 Reloaded was one of those updates that had something for every kind of player. Whether I wanted fast Multiplayer modes, a new way to play Warzone, or a real Zombies finale, the patch had me covered. It also set up the momentum toward what came next for Call of Duty, and even now I remember it as one of the more complete midseason drops I have experienced.
