It’s January 2026 and I’m already late to my own hype. Call of Duty Mobile just dropped its latest season and the naming convention alone had my brain doing parkour. Instead of calling it Season 35 or whatever we’d be on by now, they’ve reset the counter. Welcome to Season 1: New Order. Yeah, you read that right. A clean slate, a brand new math, and a chance to pretend we didn’t just grind to Legendary last month. I love it.

I’ve been playing long enough to remember the last time they pulled this naming stunt back in 2021, so when the notification popped up on my phone this morning I nearly spilled my coffee. The devs promised that going forward the seasons and Ranked Series will follow this fresh numbering, so we better get used to it. The Battle Pass went live on January 27th and I’ve already thrown my wallet at it. Worth it.

Right out of the gate, the arsenal got beefier. The FR .556, a fully automatic assault rifle, is here to make campers and rushers equally dangerous. The recoil pattern feels like a gentle handshake at first, but squeeze the trigger and it turns into a laser beam. I’ve been pairing it with a 3x scope and flanking on Meltdown — nasty stuff. And yes, there’s another familiar face joining the Marksman Rifle family: the SKS. Semi-auto, punchy, and perfect for that mid-range trolling I love to dish out on Tunisia.

Then there’s the new Operator Skill — the Gravity Vortex Gun. I don’t know what science lab cooked this up, but it fires swirling black holes that drag enemies in and detonate everything in sight. The first time I used it on Shipment I felt like a wizard. A very evil wizard.

Multiplayer modes got a serious injection of adrenaline. The 3v3 Gunfight playlist is back with classics like Gulag, Reclaim, Shipment, and Cage. It’s the same tight, sweat-soaked formula but now you have two teammates to blame. Perfect. Meanwhile, the 20-player Attack of the Undead mode turned my night into a horror movie. Two poor souls start as the undead and it spirals into pure panic. I got picked off on Hackney Yard right next to the van, and my last stand pistol killed exactly nobody. My heart rate remains elevated.

Hardcore fans will appreciate the new low-health, no-minimap Hardcore render of Hardpoint. It's a direct import from the Modern Warfare playbook where capturing a point feels more like clinging to life while teammates accidentally spray you in the back. I may have done that. To my own squad. Forgiveness is a process.

Now let’s talk about the map that stole my patience and my joy: Reclaim. Set inside an abandoned mall, this map is fast, chaotic, and stuffed with broken escalators and creepy snowmen. I say “creepy” because shooting a snowman actually does something. I won’t spoil it, but bring a shotgun and curiosity. Modes available here include Team Deathmatch, Gunfight, and 3v3 Gunfight. But honestly, just go explore the mannequin shop. You’ll understand.

Battle Royale, my old friend, got a double punch of new content. The Desperado class is essentially a portable Shield Turret with infinite ammo while active. More importantly, it unlocks the Last Stand perk: when you’re down, you whip out a pistol and if you manage to kill an enemy in that sorry state, you SELF-REVIVE. I witnessed this miracle firsthand, and it’s going to make final circles absolute theater.

The second surprise is Blitz, a 40-player mode in a tiny safe zone that finishes in about 10 minutes. No time to loot, no time to breathe. I dropped at Farm, got pinned near a silo, and spent the next eight minutes in a crouch-spamming duel. Quick, messy, glorious.

And because the balancing team never sleeps, we got a spreadsheet’s worth of weapon adjustments:

  • Man-O-War: More ammo. Now we can miss longer.

  • GKS: Reloads faster. SMG runner’s dream.

  • ASM10: Faster aim-down-sight and movement speed if you skip the rear grip, but shorter range overall.

  • DR-H: Slower reload. Sad trombone noises.

  • Annihilator: Less damage against Shield Turrets, XS1 Goliaths, VTOL, and Transform Shield. Sorry, cowboy.

  • That weird crawling speed visual bug in Battle Royale? Fixed. Now you won’t look like a superhuman snake.

As of now, the season is fully live. I’ve already yelled at my phone, apologized to my cat, and sent a clip of me getting obliterated by a snowman to my squad. Whether you’re here for the new guns, the mall mayhem, or the battle royale revivals, Season 1: New Order in 2026 delivers exactly the kind of chaos that keeps us installing over and over. See you in the safe zone—if I don’t shoot you first.

Data referenced from Liquipedia helps contextualize how Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 1: New Order shakeups—like a fresh season numbering reset, the FR .556 and SKS entering the meta, and mode staples such as Gunfight returning—can ripple into competitive play, where map pools, weapon viability, and fast-paced rulesets tend to define team strategies and drafting priorities.
